Ingredients You’ll Need

Serves 6–8

For the Casserole:

  • 4 cups cooked chicken , shredded or diced (rotisserie chicken works great!)
  • 2 cans (10.5 oz each) condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese , divided
  • 1 box (6 oz) stove-top stuffing mix (or homemade stuffing mix)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter , melted

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Preheat & Prep

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) . Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Step 2: Make the Chicken Mixture

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, chicken broth, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until well combined.

Step 3: Assemble the Casserole

  1. Spread the chicken mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  2. Sprinkle the dry stuffing mix evenly over the top of the chicken layer.
  3. Drizzle the melted butter over the stuffing mix to ensure it gets crispy and golden during baking.

Step 4: Bake

  1. Bake for 30–35 minutes , or until the casserole is bubbly and the stuffing is golden brown on top.
  2. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Return to the oven for 5 more minutes , or until the cheese is melted and gooey.

Step 5: Serve

  1. Let the casserole cool for 5–10 minutes before serving.
  2. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley for a pop of color, if desired. Serve hot and enjoy the creamy, crunchy goodness!
